Bike Share System in India

Amazing how technology can help solving different problems. I personally feel all metro cities in India should have such a system. There are multiple benefits
1. Improves traffic balance
2. Improves health of the people
3. Make the city cleaner.

But the major cities in India don't have proper provision for supporting cyclist!!! Are our urban city planning thinking and planning for next 10 yrs? don't know.

Meta University - Age has come

Interesting thinking, world is going through information revolution. Having a ubiquitous university which allows you to take the course from the best place possible is the way to go. Universities can build on their expertise and attract the best talent. It will allow students to have cross disciplinary learning and specialise on topics they want.

Few other ways such a knowledge network can be leveraged
1. Would be useful if such a knowledge network can be tapped by corporations to provide specific learning to their employees
2. Organisations that are open can provide support to do specific courses employees want to do. Because widening knowledge increases tangential thinking.

It is heartening to know that this article is written by a person belonging to PMO though it is his personal opinion. People part of such high office can do a lot to the country. I just hope his views become a reality.

Ability to store electricity efficiently

Interesting innovation, cannot comment or compare with other storage systems available. But if humans can innovate a safe and efficient way to store electricity then it has many interesting application
1. Full potential of solar electricity for that matter any renewable energy can be fully achieved
2. City planners can work out energy efficient light systems. That can help country like India which wants to increase penetration of availability of (reliable) electricity
3. Has interesting application in hybrid cars/trains it can save a lot of energy

Interesting to see how this space of storing electricity efficiently is evolving.

Economics to layman

I have always been fasinated by economics but got bogged by the way it is communicated to layman like me. But this site is amazing in presenting such complex information/data in an easy to understand visual form.

I can now understand why they say "A picture is worth a thousand words"

Future of Magazines, Books and Newspapers

This is the future unfolding before us at its best.

We are lucky to watch the worlds largest media company camouflaged as technology company (Google) working in building a platform that I believe will be open to all but only Google can monetize it better than all (core competency!!).

People who have content will make money as the editor of sport illustrate says in the end. I see a grand change happening before my eyes and enjoying every bit of it.

Notion Ink

Notion Ink

This was the device I was looking for!! At last there is an organisation that would provide solutions without linking it to existing back end solutions (apple trying to link everything to iTunes!! or Google to its cloud products). Put a world class product, provide the SDK and allow an ecosystem to build don't control it. Was internet controlled, see how the ecosystem has evolved.

Today every product is built with design thinking on how to control the ecosystem!!! I am waiting to get my hand on to this product.

Nice to see a "Made in India" product!!!
